Default I'm Not "Turning Japanese" But I Wish I Could

For my sins, I have a passion for collecting Japanese made Walkie Talkies but one model in the "Gakken" range leaves me stumped.

See pic #1 and the text in pic #2

I can't work out what the model number is !

Perhaps one of you already know but if not, does anyone know Japanese and can translate it from pic #2. There appears to be a number 5 in the text, although I could be imagining it.

It's driving me nuts !!!

Cheers

I just tried the Google Translate app on my phone which works through the camera. I use it quite often when dealing with some Japanese equipment in the day job. It came up with all sorts of nonsense (my favourite being 'Echo horse') but seems most confident with 'Echo' on the top line followed by 'radio' on the bottom line, maybe followed by 'three' or 'love' or something else.

We had a gentleman from Japan (Hiro) join us just a few days ago - perhaps a polite PM to him will yield results. You can find him in the ongoing thread about QRP on his Trio TS-510, here

Thanks for your help, even if a model number never existed I like the idea of Echo.

Cheers

Hiro.

He seems a decent chap, and his English is excellent. I was able to help him a bit with his HF transceiver.
