Default Quad 34 on/off switch.

Has anyone got one of these for sale (pictured)? Mine has failed, possibly mechanically, on the neutral side.

I'm going to temporarily bridge this and unplug when not in use, unless someone thinks this unwise.

Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, there is no risk caused by bridging the neutral connections. The live side will still, in any case be switched. I may have a suitable mains-rated push-button switch. PM me the dimensions of the original and I'll check. It's a long time since I've seen a Quad 34, but that switch looks to be a standard type used by many manufacturers at one time.

That looks like a rifa capacitor under there. One day, it'll unplug itself!

Thanks 'Livewire?' , I'll have to wait until Friday morning to take dimensions and post them here.

I wondered how long it would be before that Rifa attracted attention.

Alps SDS 3P, it appears to have another pair of contacts on the other side. There's one on German eBay, €10 +pp, otherwise not common it seems. Quad must stock them.

Try Quad service in Huntingdon/Cambridge they still repair the S/S stuff so will most likely have spares. Rob Flain is the man.

Thanks to Dave for the Dada link, l should have thought of them myself as l downloaded all their information on Quad 34/405 ll when I first bought it!

Although Dada shows the switch as currently out of stock, I'm happy to wait as the temporary bridge is working fine.

When the new switch is being fitted I'll replace that Rifa as well as this combination is going to be my hi-fi system for the foreseeable future.

Thanks to all who took the time to reply.
