Default Concerns about Ferric Chloride

I have always had a 'strange fascination' (ever since I accidentally had some 'wick up' my mother's lace curtains) with ferric chloride but for those of you who hate the stuff, here is an interesting video which may confirm your prejudices http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-31450915

Yep... although the beeb seems to imply that ferric chloride and nitric acid is responsible for the cloud, the latter is actually nitrogen dioxide and you'd have to wonder whether it is mainly due to nitric acid reacting with something else besides ferric chloride and the quantities involved must have been considerable. No deaths are reported, which seems incredible given the toxicity and density of NO2 and the size of that cloud.
