Re: Reception radio set R107
The R107 was a wartime general coverage receiver to 16MHz, I think they were used in tanks. I had one many years ago they were a great entry into the world of short wave radio. I can't remember who made it though!

Re: Reception radio set R107
Yes I think the R107 was a tank set. Very square receiver I seem to recall unless I am thinking of the R109. No idea of manufacturer though.

Re: Reception Set R107.
According to the bible "Wireless For The Warrior Vol 3":-
The original firm which manufactured the set was Radio Transmission Equipment Limited, but in February 1941 Ferguson Radio Limited also began production of the R107 as a shadow factory for RTE. WFTW Vol 3 has 26 pages of information about these sets.

Re: Reception Set R107.
A Vehicle or static set rather than a tank set. Could run off mains or 12 Volts. I've seen these in grey or a light-ish green. The original colours would have been BS colours. There may be RAL equivalents.

Re: Reception Set R107.
The R107 wasn't used in tanks, it's far too big, and would require its accompanying transmitter, usually the WS12 which is the same size. The normal tank receiver/transmitter was the 19 set.
The R107 was used in dedicated radio trucks as well as fixed installations. Andy |
