Wootton Bassett 6th July (BVWS) - Northern field trip?
Would any Northern BVWS chaps/chapesses fancy a trip to the Wootton Bassett swapmeet on the 6th (from Leeds, or if you can get to Leeds to meet up) and be able to chip in for petrol?
I'd like to go, and I'm happy to drive but the cost of petrol is just stupid now, and my big old beast of an estate, whilst an excellent car in terms of getting big items from A to B, isn't exactly frugal. For several people together though, it'd be affordable I think (just). Anyone fancy it? |

Re: Wootton Bassett 6th July (BVWS) - Northern field trip?
Whilst I normally visit W-B in the summer, I do'nt expect to be coming this year! The reason? Northamptonshire, North Oxfordshire, and North Buckinghamshire are likely to be gridlocked, due to the British Formula One Grand Prix being held at Silverstone. As my route takes me along the A43 through Silverstone, any suitable diversion would add twenty or thirty miles to the journey. From Leeds I would seek a good alternative route.

How about M62, M6, M5, A419 (I think - leave Motorway at Gloucester), M4... That's what I use.
Cheers, Steve P.
