New caps for old...
Continuing the traditions of me making repro components and of Blue Peter, here are some reproduction WEGO paper capacitors by courtesy of a cereal packet and brown foolscap envelope.

Those look brilliant Mike.
Ever thought of making some repro Hunts or Wima's? Though I suppose if you did that and passed the sets on, the new owner would rip them all out thinking they were originals!! Rich. |

Tony
It did not take too long, after a couple of false starts. Michael I shall continue to design software to keep the wolf from the door! Mick I hope the orange-drops were not leaky! Here is the first stage: The complete saga to date is in the form of a Word doc - I may give it to anyone who is interested in it as an article, when it is finally completed. At present, it is 7 pages and 7mb, and gives full details on how these caps were made. If anyone wants a copy, send me a PM and make sure you can handle big files. Also, the labels and Mallory-Plessey electrolytic labels are free to anyone that wants them - also .DOCs. To follow, a Rola speaker label!

Re: New caps for old...
Good evening,
yes they look like originals. And this causes problems! Are you sure your replacement will last as long as an original cap? You must write on one side what kind of cap is used in it! Than you can place the cap in a direction that this is not direct visible. The orange caps you use are not the best quality. They are used in modern TV's and a replaced them. (Tangens) Kind regards Darius |

Wow that looks great!!!
Your restoration projects must look amazing if you actually make every R and C look like the original. |
