Default Pye G63 electrolytic capacitors.

I'm servicing a Pye Stereo Black Box Model G63 for a friend and need a replacement electrolytic capacitor triple can:-

10uF + 10uF + 50uF : 350V

If such a can is unobtainable or too expensive then of course I can either re-stuff the can or tack three separate caps underneath.

You could fit a 16+16 and add a separate 47uf under the chassis.

Thanks Frank - your suggestion is a tidy compromise which will probably be used if the required triple can can't be found.

Askjanfirst does some triples, but the closest is a 20+20+20. He would be worth asking in case 'specials' are available, as I understand from his website that some lines are produced to his specifications. I haven't seen many triples in production, but he seems to have quite a few values.

I've now extracted the whole amp assembly from the Pye G63 making very careful notes and taking pictures of where every wire was connected. This makes testing, measuring and replacement so much easier.

But I've come across what seems to me to be an anomaly - the triple can is identified in the Service Sheet as C5, C6 and C16 and the capacitor list states that these are 'Capacitors in the same can' - so far so good.

When I look at amp assembly, however, the large can only appears to contain two electrolytics - C16 (50uF) and either C5 or C6 (10uF), see image below:-

The underside tends to confirm this with only two live tags and the can case connected to the chassis:-

So I'm a bit perplexed - I seem to have lost a 10uF electrolytic or is it me that's missing something?

You have seem to have the later version of the circuit, with 16uF and 10uF in the can, and C5 as an axial 8uF wired underneath the chassis. Here's the underside of my G63 chassis showing those components. C5 is the large silver electro below the tag strip.
