The LOPT in my Rediffusion RT530/22 has developed a shorted turn on the HV winding, resulting in a narrowed picture and unhappy output valves.
it uses a Decca Bradford 30 chassis. Does anyone happen to have a Spare LOPT for one of these? All costs met of course ![]() Would be a shame to scrap an otherwise lovely set with a fantastic tube. Cheers. Jan |

There is one on ebay at the moment. Bear in mind there was two versions of the Bradford LOPT 20KV and 25KV so if you buy one that has been removed from the set you need to know which type it is. The Weyrad replacements usually have an identifying number. The servicing Decca Bradford chassis article in PT magazine has details of the Weyrad numbers.

Thank you for that information, Slidertogrid.
![]() The one on eBay is indeed from a 22” set. Thank you for the heads up! Regards. Jan Last edited by Cobaltblue; 29th Jan 2023 at 10:42 am. Reason: Euphemism removed |

Hi Jan
Did you win the LOPT on ebay? I am working on a Bradford that had overheating line output valves which reminded me of your request. I was lucky mine was a line drive problem. https://www.radios-tv.co.uk/communit...2230-bradford/ ![]() Rich |

Hi Rich.
Yes, I did win it. Unfortunately it arrived badly packaged with the wires snapped off the HV winding. ![]() Still on the lookout for one. Regards, Jan |

That's a downer, is there no way of salvaging it, I've been back to the wall with seemingly impossible to fix stuff like that many times and nine times out of ten with a little time and digging enough winding can be found to reattach a lead to, I'm game to look if there's half a chance. Greg,

Hi Greg.
I have tried to salvage the original one by scraping back a bit of the burnt area, separating the two shorted windings where it was burnt (that I could see) and applying a few coats of varnish. still with the same results, about 18kv of EHT and overheating OP valves. The one purchased could possibly have been salvaged. It wasn't exactly cheap and didn't arrive as it was advertised. So has been returned. Again, If anyone has one to sell, Please let me know. All costs covers of course ![]() Jan |
