Re: Ugliest Radio
Showed the thread to my BC505 and it's so upset that it won't give me any Big "L" tonight!
I'm assuming that (if these are the sets meant by PWH) that forum member must have mistaken this old thread for the new "Most beautiful radio" one! Like many older radio sets, these GECs can only be ugly until you've heard one.

Re: Ugliest Radio
Dear Santa Claus,
I've been a really good boy this year, saving more pennies than I have spent on old radio sets, so please, please may I have one of those last pair shown by Paul in his pictures? The one with the telescopic aerial would be nice, but either would do. Obviously, these things must be cheap and freely available since they're so hideously ugly in the eyes of all but the few dedicated to their preservation, so how about it Santa? I have enough socks and alcoholic beverage left over from last Christmas and besides, one of these would be of more use to me than either the socks or the other. Yours, JPB Seriously, did GEC ever put their name to a truly ugly piece of equipment?

Re: Ugliest Radio
It does indeed, so why's it not in the neighbouring "Most beautiful set" thread? Perhaps now would be the time to blend the two strains of aesthetic extreme into a new thread about the extremes of design. (?)
"Beauty and the beasts" if you will.

I still think it's beautiful. I must get one soon. Josh.
