Re: BVWS Harpenden Auction, 4th March
Hi All,
Just for sake of making sure everyone knows, The Harpenden Auction and BVWS AGM is this coming Sunday! Directions can be found on the BVWS website. You will need to be a paid up member to participate. Membership renewals can be taken on the day, up until 10:00 and NOT after!!! The main hall will be filled with tables showing off the auction items. The side hall will be filled with stalls for a mini market. There is no BVWS table at this event due to all Committee members being required elsewhere. Neither will there be a Bring & Buy table, unless Julian volunteers. Doors open at 9:30 for viewing. Auction will start at 10:30. There will be a break of 15 mins at about 12:30, then the AGM will start and run for approx 45 mins, then another few mins break and the auction will re-start. There are currently 222 lots, so not too long a day expected. Those who are bringing items to be auctioned, please can you have them in the hall as early as possible after 09:00. Many Thanks, Hope to see everyone on the day, Mike...

Re: BVWS Harpenden Auction, 4th March
Hi Everyone
Yes I'll be able to make it on Sunday so there will be a Bring and Buy stall. I just heard that Jon might not be able to make it but Edward (Brased) as usual has offered to help, thanks. I'll hopefully be bringing another helper with me but would like to hear from any other volunteers who could spare the odd half-hour Please Note, that there will be a small change to how the stall is run. When a member now brings an item to the stall that they wish to sell they will be given a label with an item number, the rest of the label, item description, price, etc is to now be filled out by the seller and not the stall helper as previously (all in block capitals please). No item will be sold without a properly filled out label. This will hopefully make the stall run a lot smoother, I can't tell you whether it will be idiot proof as I'm yet to try it As it's the AGM the stall will be open from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. (normally 10am - 1pm), could I remind all members to collect their money or unsold items by 1 p.m, after this time we can not be responsible for any items that are left on the stall. For any new members that are wondering what I'm talking about, the Bring and Buy is situated in the main entrance, the stall is for any member that has just one or two items which they'd like to sell. 10% of the final sale price goes to the BVWS, if the item doesn't sell there's no fee. Thanks to you all for your time. Julian
