Default Philips MK 40284

Hi.

Just found a nice looking radio, suspect not that old. I may have a go at getting it going. I can see its a live shassis. But a big Problem! It has a crack across the top. Can it be fixed.... How.

Thank you...

From experience, these five figure numbers preceded by MK are part numbers. The model number is normally on an alluminium or paper plate on the chassis on the back, along with a serial number. Did the "MK" number come off the rear cover, by any chance?

A little more..

Yes that number came off the back card.... So could BA 7663 be the one..

or B3G990.

I've dusted it down and it looks un touched.

B3G990 is the right order of model number. It's just not quite what I would expect. The other number could well be a serial number. Are you able to post a picture, and even a close-up of the plate?

Could it be that what you think is an "0" is a "U"? B3G99U is a real model number. You could Google it on Google Images to confirm.

As the old saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words.

hi.

Yes you are right.... the number is B3G99U. It really is dusty. Sorry about messing you about, but I've just moved (today) into our new home. This radio was given to me in the move. I just had to take a look. This will make a very nice kitchen radio. I'll see what I can do about a photo, but need to find the camera first hi hi.
