Default Drake R7 receiver.

Hi, I'm hoping to find someone in the UK who could take a look at my Drake R7 receiver. I have the complete workshop manual and would like to discuss the problem I have with the radio. Briefly it emits a whistle (heterodyne?) which is randomly emitted, and if daisy chained via the switchable antenna output to another receiver, the second receiver will also pick up the whistle. Thanks, Max, SWL.

www.kent-rigs.co.uk advertises in the amateur radio magazines a repair service for older equipment

I have no experience of their services though

The Drake 7 equipment suffers from bad connections on the plug in pcbs so opening it and reseating each PCB may help

I have had excellent service from Kent Rigs who refurbished and repaired two Drake C Lines and several other rigs over the years.
