Default Inrush Protection PTC?

Greetings

Confounded modern component....from a small SMPS. It's additional to a fusible link . Am I correct that its for Inrush Current Protection? Otherwise please enlighten me...having another senior moment.

Best Wishes....Phil

Looks like it
Quote:
Thermal links / Resistor assemblies is a product that combined with thermal links of fusible alloy type and 1W wire wound resistor type.
F1K is RoHS compliance product, non-Pb and non-Cd contains.
F1K got excellent interception characteristic when abnormality overload happened.
Especially, F1K adopted excellent characteristic resistive element against the In-rush current, and it is the best for preventing In-rush current.
According to :-https://www.uchihashi.co.jp/en/fuse/f1k/

I don't see any confirmation on that website that the resistor element is a PTC. There is the reference to in-rush prevention, but also a reference to wire-wound resistor. The spec relates to the resistance tolerance (presumably of the part number related resistance value), and the the functioning temperature (presumably of the thermal fuse element). The in-rush descriptor could just be related to the ability of the fixed resistance to survive an in-rush.

A supporting tech sheet I just located:

Does the measured resistance change with temperature? Soldering iron or freezer spray?
