"The Art of Electronics".
Forum member Radio Wrangler recommended the above book to me.
It can be downloaded for free here:- http://iate.oac.uncor.edu/~manuel/li...20&%20Hill.pdf

I've still got my copy from when I was at university in the early 1990s

Hi Gents, a worthy precursor to H&H is Electronic Circuits by Mike Tooley. Very useful for those who find H&H a bit advanced. Unlikely to be on line though as it is quite a modern book.

Yes, an excellent book, still have mine and still use it occasionally. No valve stuff in it at all though!

Re: "The Art of Electronics".
When I was working in electronics R & D, Horowitz and Hill was considered pretty much to be the electronics reference book -- although we had at least one edition in the lab, so I never acquired my own copy.
It is a great book, though, and I would recommend anyone to snap up a copy if offered one.

Re: "The Art of Electronics".
Mine is right next to me now. Cost £32.50 in 1992, IIRC.
After much anticipation, the 3rd edition is promised later this year: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Art_of_Electronics Yes, it has its own Wikipedia entry! http://frank.harvard.edu/aoe/ |

Re: "The Art of Electronics".
It's a pity there are sections missing from that PDF (like all of Chapter 1).

Re: "The Art of Electronics".
Perhaps that university hasn't noticed? It might be an unofficial edition. The file does include the copyrights notice page as well.
Anyway, it reads better on paper and the price to knowledge ratio makes it a bargain. It's not one of those books you want for your bookshelf, it's one you want open on your bench. David

Re: "The Art of Electronics".
PDFSAM(PDF Split And Merge) is an excellent freeware program that will easily add Chapter 1 to the rest of the document.
