Thank you to all that supported the event, despite adversity Steve and I won through.

cheers Mark

Here are the notes from the talk entitled "The Art of Alignment". It's intended as an introduction to alignment for those who have never aligned a radio before.

Thank you. That's an excellent document, and well worth keeping a copy to pass to people asking questions.

How to de-phantomise a receiver's twiddlers!

A great meeting as usual.
Jay, you must have left early as I didn't see you there.
Robert, didn't spot you either.

Keith's talk was a good one; sadly, the phantom twizzers (Twizz fairy) won't be BVWS members or probably not even forum members.

Hi Mike, I meant to put a name badge on as I'm terrible with such things.

I had even found a box of sticky labels. Then I forgot to take the box with me...

For next time I'm easy to spot - the short fat bald guy with glasses and, if it is cold, the black coat with white stripes on the sleeves...

I confess I don't know the Golborne clientele at all well and I really don't want to stereotype anyone. But I suspect that your description may not be enough to identify you uniquely . Now if you'd said "I'm the 6-foot, 9-stone lady with a huge mass of blonde curls" then that would probably be a different matter ...

Cheers,

GJ

Robert's description of himself - unflattering though it may be - is sufficiently acurate so as to not confuse him with anyone else at the Swapmeet. Trust me on that - I was there! (Me? Portly, tallish, balding, elderly, bespectacled - a description that would fit any number of visitors - now that IS vague!).

(A few more name badges would be nice).

Despite what I said [in post 10*], I do understand that most Forum members are probaly not comfortable with self advertising and that everyone has the right to their privacy. A badge can you feel conspicuous at first [it's the same with me] but this vanishes when the first person spots you. Of course there is a tipping point when a majority become a "badged" edition and then it's just the norm. Sounds like it was all a great success in the end. I'm sorry I missed out!

No, definitely me! Another trademark is my black Adidas coat which I have had forever and will probably end up as my burial shroud! I described myself thus when meeting somebody at a motorway service station - the recognition was instant.
I shall endeavour to wear a badge next time for those who really can't tell!
