LOPT identification!
Hope I’ve put this in the right section!
I’ve had this LOPT hanging around for ages, originally purchased as one for a Philips Style 70, but it looks nothing like the one in my Stella ST2049A, which is a style 70 chassis! My guess so far is it’s for a mono set, from the dual standard era by the look of it, possibly 625 only. Valves in it are PY81, PL36, and a DY86/87. There are some multi way sockets, and pull and turn knob for setting something, possibly focus? Anyway, here’s some photos of it. Regards Lloyd |

Re: LOPT identification!
That looks remarkably like the cage fitted to my Cossor (Philips) CT1911U
Haven't seen it in a while 8 years or so but it does ring very many bells especially all those capacitors at jaunty angles which is the width control. Cheers Mike T

Re: LOPT identification!
The Philips part number for the whole plug-in assembly is stamped on the front (looks like MK 516 14). If you can confirm what it is, I should be able to tell you the models it fits.

Re: LOPT identification!
Good spot Daz
Confirms one of the sets it fits is a Cossor CT1911U which is a single standard 405 set from 1962 ish Cheers Mike T

Quote:
The equivalent Philips series (referred to a their "Summit" range), was based on the 19TG111A and 23" versions. Supposedly able to be converted to dual standard operation (but it would have been a major undertaking, I would have thought). Re: LOPT identification!
That must be it! The number stamped on it is indeed MK 516 14, and also just under it looks like 3391. There was a piece of paper stuffed in it too, with a drawing of all the connections, and on the back is a Philips model number 19TG171A/1, I’d not noticed it before!
I might list this in the offered section later, as I haven’t a set to put it in, although, saying that you can guarantee that I’ll end up with such a set at some point, and it’ll need a LOPT! Cheers, Lloyd |

Re: LOPT identification!
19TG171A is a Philips “Style 70” chassis dual standard set and it doesn’t use this LOPT. Style 70 LOPTs were notoriously unreliable!

Re: LOPT identification!
That’s probably where the confusion came in then, I know how unreliable those style 70 LOPT’s were, the Stella one I’ve got ate 2! Luckily I was able to make one good LOPT out of the 2 it killed, the primary shorted on one and the over wind on the other, good that you could disassemble old LOPT’s like this, unlike the modern potted ones.
I will Amend that bit of paper now to avoid future confusion! Regards Lloyd |
