Default Wow and Flutter measurements

Whilst trying to make sense of the wide range of Wow and Flutter figures given for popular Cassette decks and the varying standards used by different manufacturers, I came across this website which may be of use to others. I found it explained things for me
https://reflectiveobserver.medium.co...ed-31cc9495d24
It certainly seems some manufacturers are economical with their ratings.
This shows up in some of the better test reports from the 80s and early 90s such as the HiFi Choice review books which usually give results using the peak weighted DIN rating.

However, I found the ratings for my Sony WN D6C from manufacturer Data 0.14% DIN 0.04% NAB
From HiFi Choice Peak DIN weighted 0.12% Unweighted 0.3%
My own reading were DIN weighted 0.11% JIS WRMS 0.05% Unweighted 0.45%
Were all reasonably OK which fits in with the good reputation these decks have
Note there are close similarities to JIS and NAB and the IEC and DIN standards. The JIS weighted always seem to be most optimistic and often quoted in Manufacturers specifications.

Has anyone else got more insight into this topic?

I use either a Ferrograph RTS2 test set, or more often now, a very useful (and free) software meter, wfgui.exe . I've also heard good reports of the NAK T-100 app, but haven't tried it yet. It's chargeable, but only £20.99.

However, looking at what else it does, I can't see how it's better than REW which is free.
