If you can locate a TV repair shop (and they do still exist) you may be able to get a stack of pulled circuit boards from them. All of these contain a high number of RF chokes including those in the target inductance range you're looking for. You can also find the raw material here for rewinding chokes in the mH range.

problem solved, I just bought a bakelite 5 cell RF choke, and from the picture it looks gorgeous!
I expect it will do the job most admirably, and well worth the sick squid I paid

We would need to see the circuit. If this is after the detector then the choke needs to be audio frequency and ideally >1H.

My choke arrived today in absolutely Perfect condition, not a scratch.
