If they can be got to me I could take them up on my next visit to Junior SWMBO (probably mid-September) - fuel cost estimated at ~30 i.e. the difference between me using my 4x4 longbed pickup (35mpg) instead of my diesel Yaris (62mpg) being as how 2 x 4 foot long speakers won't fit in the latter!
Would that work for all involved?
Best wishes
Guy

You're not tailgating those artics, Guy - I can get 90+mpg on a good run from the new-to-us little Skoda

Do let me know when you're next up, if you have time for the bus museum. If not this time, there'll be another I'm sure.

Hi Guy,

That sounds like it could be a plan wouldn't be Didsbury it'll be Sale if that makes a difference? Where are you based again?

Thanks

Chris

Getting them over to Redditch may be problematic- it would be a 100 mile round trip- about 24 diesel for the Landy.

Redditch-Manchester via Leominster would add about 60 miles to one leg of the trip, but still not very cost effective.

Is there anyone in the Gloucester/Oxford/Witney/Abingdon area who might be able to help with these beasts?

I'm travelling to Oxford on 5th September and they'll be along for the ride on account of being stored in the car I'll be using......

I don't think the Redditch option is a serious contender- it would involve quite heavy fuel costs for someone or other.

The speakers are large- they take up full width of rear seats in Landy station wagon and would need a medium van or large estate car for easy handling. Maybe a Landcrab would do to keep things classic......
