Default Update on the 4000D Cam problem.

Hi guys.

Some good news and some bad news.

It seems the cam on the 4000DS is critically different to it's predecessor ( what did they have to do that for?... ) BUT it appears to be made of much better material which will be a relief to some, me included. However, using it as a pattern for making new cams for our 4000D's is therefore a non-starter.

All is not lost though, as the nice man who sold me this machine has promised me a part from another 4000D in his posession so fingers crossed it will arrive and I can get on with production.

If all else fails I shall whittle one from wood if necessary. This problem will NOT beat me.

More later.

Roger.

Hi Roger,
That's the spirit! There are several common traits that we enthusiasts on this Forum share, and sheer grit is one of them!
I don't know about others, but there have been times when I've even amazed myself - when faced with an apparently insoluble "repair headache" - that by sheer ******-mindedness - and a bit of ingenuity - I've managed to overcome a horrendous problem in a "repair category"!

So keep going! And good luck!

Al
