Default Auto Play & No Auto Stop

Hi,

Can anyone please shed any light as to the cause and cure for a Revox B77 always entering Play mode whenever it's switched on and not auto stopping upon reaching end of tape?

Thanks

Sometimes the transport buttons fail and jam on. Underneath the buttons is a metal strip with segments for each function. Sometimes a segment breaks loose and can complete the circuit. You would need to pull the switch block apart and replace the metal strip.
Not saying this is the cause but it might be worth checking out.
