Re: Adding RF input to vintage TV - JVC Videosphere.
Thanks for that Rich.
An interesting theory that I hadn't thought of. If it won't take VHF, at least I'll have a nice display piece for my lounge! |

Re: Adding RF input to vintage TV - JVC Videosphere.
You can easily tell whether your Videosphere is VHF, UHF or both. Just look on the top where the controls are.
The British model (3240UK) only has one rotary UHF tuning knob (channels 21~69). The VHF knob is missing - the hole is covered up by a small round piece of plastic. The VHF aerial socket is still present on the back of the British model, but it's not used. Foreign models normally have two tuning knobs, VHF and UHF. To use UHF mode, set the VHF knob so that the letter U (for UHF) is uppermost, then turn the UHF knob to the required channel. It's technically possible that JVC could have made a model with VHF only and no UHF tuning knob, though I've not come across one. If that were the case, you'd need a VHF modulator. If you can't get the tuners to work, it's possible to add a composite video input - see here |
