Page 644-646 contains a useful reference corolating Granada stock categories with equivalent manufacturers model.

The plot thickens, I've managed to find a photo of what I'm sure was my parents 1st colour TV.

We moved in 1979 so might have handed this set back to Granada.

It looks like a GEC 2121, but the channel buttons are round.

Maybe things are getting mixed up in my mind after nearly 35 years, some aspects of this set seem right, especially the channel buttons & sliders, but I'm sure I would have remembered the large On / Off button labelled as such.

Looking as the Granada coding list the C2233H is mentioned as a common rental set, but I've not found a photo yet of one.

Good evening Richard. You're not getting muddled up at all! Those square touch tuner selectors caused quite a few problems such that an after market simple push button unit was manufactured to replace them as in your photograph.

Was there ever a tactful way to tell the customer that their damp house was incompatible with this set?

Touch buttons caused so many problems, even if they weren't broken. On one type of set I had to hold the button and jump if I was bare footed. The floor was tiled an probably grounded the body enough for the buttons not to work. I did a loot of diagnostic work before I figured why the buttons didn't work.

Some were very reluctant to change when on the bench, connected via an isolation transformer.
