Thanks Peter and it was excellent to see you. I may have a manual for that GEC if you get stuck although it may take a bit of digging out. Let me know if you need a copy though.

TTFN,

Thanks Jon - I'm glad you could make it. Hmm - The Televisor will be better next year once I've finished building the synchroniser - The picture is difficult to get steady without it. I'll get it all sorted out very soon. Maybe.

It was amazing that it worked almost straight away John, especially after at least 10+ years of it never having been plugged in.

Hopefully you'll be able to make it next time Tas. I think it was my fault this year for changing the date suddenly.

Shame I couldn't make it but we were off to Wales for a week.

I'll try to go next year as I had a fantastic day last time and managed to avoid picking up any TVs that I don't have room for. The K70 would have been tempting though!

That back is fantastic Peter. I have very happy memories of these GEC receivers. I sold huge numbers second hand but the story is for another thread maybe. That set was in a distressed state and as you were with me you know we brought it down the M40 in the rear of my open truck in the pouring rain..The original backs were real nasty, pressed cardboard like egg boxes. They were only 19/6d [less than £1] from GEC as they were aware of the safety aspect. I was very pleased you accepted Mikey's kind offer of one of these now rare GEC receivers.
I really must organize a meeting at my place. Like Mikey's, loads of junk to play with.. John

Wow - That's fantastic Peter. I never thought I'd actually see a picture on that set. Very well done for sorting that out and the excellent back cover.

Kind regards.

From Mike.

Hi all again.

One of the sets I passed on at the meetup was a slightly beaten up Perdio Portarama for spares or repair - I can't remember who had it (I think I must have forced it on someone with menaces) but at the time I mentioned that I could do with the front square knobs back for my set down in Devon.

Can anyone remember who had the set? No problem if not, but I could do with the knobs back sometime.

Thanks all.

Kind regards.

From Mike.
