Wow is it really?
I have the live feed to the station on my pc and I watch it a lot .

Also use the site to track various satellites .

I use the 'Heavens-Above' app to predict visible passes (weather/cloud cover permitting!).
Whilst on holiday last summer, we saw it go over on four occasions. It's always nice to see an old friend ... and fascinating to think there are people on board that bright moving dot Isn't "person's" curiousity/science/engineering wonderful?

I saw it, quite by chance, fairly recently. It will pass overhead this evening, but the chances of seeing it this time look to be zero!

I was living under the assumption that the ISS would be there "for ever", but apparently this is not so sure. Whatever the technical issues, the question of operational funding in the Putin-Trump era is less than certain. There are some notes about this on Wiki. Now that Trump has created his "Space Force", the idea of an International station may not fit in very well.

The organisations running the various Nationality's space programmes have so far managed to stay aloof, at least publicly, from the machinations and whims of the respective Governments when it comes to International space projects.

I have received the amateur radio station in the ISS with a handheld, surprises people down the pub! Best not to talk to them (although they have been known to answer to individuals), that sort of thing is reserved for schools and clubs on a schedule. I did see that all ISS crew are licensed amateurs, given their technical knowledge I guess it is a tick box exercise.
