You got it .I must say i am delighted with the replacement mat [must get a few more before they stop making them ]
So they are just table mats and you punch a hole in them? Got a link or an Ikea silly Produukt Naim? They look great and could easily pass as period appropriate

Re: Your Post #39, you can fit a stereo stylus to this. A BSR TC8S and it's a very easy fit too. However, although the tip diameter is as it should be, the vertical compliance is very poor. Even so, the Collaro's low mass tone arm does track quite lightly and for old Stereo LPs you might just about get away with it. But definately not for new Stereo pressings.

yes they are place matts [another forum member brought them to our attention]. They are £1.50 each and are the size of an LP so need to be cut down depending on what you want them for .

Sorry to resurrect this old thread but i think it may have another problem .I have removed everything from the cabinet again because FM reception was poor that i seem to have cured [ Ariel connection broken off on the tuner chassi ] While i had the thing running i noticed how the two EL84s on the amplifier seemed to be glowing brighter than they should [could be just my imagination] so i followed the instructions on the service sheet for resetting the Bias .The variable control was set somewhere around the centre but to get the reading down to the recommended 76MA i have had to turn the control right over clockwise as far as it will go .The thing is working well with nothing getting hot .The mains transformer is just warm to the touch [about body heat] after about an hour of radio 2.The two EL84s are new ones that i have had for some years.
