Good job I checked as it’s usually the late May bank holiday weekend but it looks like the Dunstable Downs Radio Club car boot is this Sunday at Stockwood Park Luton https://dunstabledownsradioclub.org/bootsale/visitors
Always a good rummage. Mike Last edited by Radio Wrangler; 16th May 2025 at 8:09 pm. Reason: DDRC expanded |

I plan to pop down and take a look. Just looking forward to chatting with familiar faces really, no plans to buy anything!

Thread title adjusted.
I've expanded DDRC as there are other radio clubs with the initials DD, for example Denby Dale. It might help anyone going to be in the area at the time, but unaware of the local club scene. David

Had a couple of hours mooching around the Dunstable Downs radio club car boot early doors as I live just down the road.. I was trying hard to not to pick up too much stuff as at the moment I’m really trying to sell not buy. Seemed pretty busy with plenty of things being sold at what seemed very reasonable prices. Despite best efforts I ended up with an Armstrong 525 receiver for £25, allegedly working but we’ll see. Three sealed cassettes, a fiver for the SA and a pound each for ferrics. Not something I was really looking for but a Freeplay radio caught my eye. I thought it would be good for the missus allotment but I’m quite captivated by it. Seems to work perfectly and sounds very good. I need to do a bit of research on these. The sun hadn’t managed to shine by the time I departed.

Had quite a good day there today, had my pitch as usual, and managed to clear a lot of stuff, admittedly for low prices, as I really need the room!.
Managed to source a great number of capacitors from Jeremy on the BECG stand, as well as some other useful parts. Bumped into a good few pepole I know as well.

Good day out today, though it appears to be getting smaller! I did come away with a 12 metre Racal mast though!

Small correction, it was the BTTT stand (not BECG). Same interests, different charity! The BTTT stall had a very good day, raising funds for the MCR21 restoration. Thank you to everyone who dropped by and said hello and bought stuff from us. BTTT (Brian) will be at Newbury on July 6th. I will be at Royal Wooton Bassett on the same day. Shame about the clash. But they are nearby so why not do a two-for-one trip! -Jeremy
