Check the PCB connections to the headphone socket - heavy handedness here can crack the print.
If all's OK there you'll need to trace the wiring back to the audio IC.

Might be silly question but do stereo headphones work in mono connection which I assume this would have.

The Ingersoll XK512B service manual shows this as having a 6MHZ sound filter. TV band UHF ch 21-69, PAL colour system I. If you need a scan of the service manual please PM me.

Ah, that narrows it down a bit then.
Any hiss from the speaker if you put your ear right up to it? Any buzz if you touch the wiper connection of the volume control? |

Wipper is the middle connection of the Vol Pot. if you get a hum or buzz when touching, that, it would tend to indicate the Audio O/P is working.
As Glyn mentioned, its worth checking the Headphone Jack for damage or dodgy connections. Ken G6HZG.

I have the Saisho branded version of this set. Mine also had no sound. The cause in my case was that the speaker output coupling electrolytic capacitor had leaked and was open circuit. I don’t know the reference number, but it should be fairly easy to spot, particularly if you have the circuit diagram to hand. It may just be worth a look.

They may LOOK perfect but have you checked them with a meter? Measure the speaker connections through the headphone socket back to the output stage.
