Prof. Kilburn was my boss in the mid 70's until he retired. Very down to earth and easy to chat to. Part of his legacy is in the form of the University of Manchester Computer Science Department Kilburn Building on Oxford Road. i think it was 1968 when we had a school visit to the Uni and was shown around the large Atlas computer , programmed to play Jingle Bells. At the time it seemed a very expensive way of achieving that!
