I would at the very least resolder all the legs of X401, X402 - thermal expansion / contraction, or physical vibration, over the years, may have caused one or more invisible cracks in the solder around the transistor pins.

Agreed with Sirius, the fact that moving the leg of the transistor almost fully corrected the problem points to dry/cracked joints around those transistors.

Hi
Yes I have had a look and there was a crack in the solder I have reflowed both transistors. I have tried it with the C64 I got with it but still not filling the screen any ideas what to try now. |

May just need the vertical height adjustment adjusted now - when it originally broke down, probably all sorts of things got twiddled initially to try to make it work.

Hi all.
Had the back off and twiddled the adjustment and it's perfect I just would like to thank everyone who has helped me to get this working and will no doubt be posting again on here soon as I still have some other vintage computer stuff to get going. Many, many thanks |

Well done getting it going, it sometimes takes a while but I admire the fact that you never seem to give up, you always keep going and get there in the end.
