Default Serenade Radio at Christmas

Just a reminder, if I am permitted, that Serenade Radio have some rather good seasonal programmes you may like to check out if you are seeking refuge from the modern world over Christmas. Do have a look through the schedules if you have a moment.

https://www.serenade-radio.com/

I should probably re-iterate that the station is not-for-profit (no irritating adverts) and is presented entirely by volunteers, many of whom have a long professional association with radio. If you haven't heard it, it's very much in the spirit of the old BBC Light Programme / Radio 2, with a varied mix of music, documentary and archive shows. Oh and I'm on it too

If you enjoy listening to period music on old radios, it's an ideal feed for your pantry transmitter.

Another happy listener, Thanks.
It sounds amazingly good through a 1970's amplifier & a pair of LNB Paralabs.
I shall now degrade it & send it to a suitable AM radio!

David.

OTOH I have been listening to a Motown 60s Christmas song compilation [from Spotify, squirted via a pantry-TX to my Roberts R707].

Motown is what I grew up with, and the producers/sound-engineers really understood how to mix stuff so it sounds brilliant when played at high volume on a relatively-low-powered transistor radio.

Santa Claus is Comin' to Town [Jackson 5]
I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus [Jackson 5]
Jingle Bells [Smokey Robinson].
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer [The Temptations].

And of course Wham!'s Last Christmas [originally from 1984] is current #1 in the charts! How brilliant!

Yes, a great station. My good friend Dave Yarnall is a presenter.

I do exactly the same David, although I feel slightly guilty as I know a lot of effort goes in to getting it to sound absolutely as good as possible! It is lovely being able to hear the right kind of music on a vintage radio though.
