Default Practical Wireless/Radio Constructor Archives online

In a recent thread someone requested information from a back issue of Practical Wireless, so I thought it worth mentioning again that thanks to some monumental efforts, including by forum member Jim Jobe, there is a very comprehensive archive of both Practical Wireless and Radio Constructor at the links below to the American Radio History' website:

Practical Wireless, mainly from 1946 - 1989, but some issues from 1932 - 1945:

Radio Constructor, Almost complete from it's inception in 1947 through to 1981, apart from missing issues in 1962 and its last year of publication, 1981:

A fantastic resource - well worth bookmarking.

Hope that's of interest and use.

I cannot speak too highly of this site, it is amazing for the sheer volume of information available. Just go to the home page to see the huge number of different mags there.

There are British tape recording mags that are difficult to find anywhere else.

If anyone can help fill the gaps Jim will be very pleased.

Personally I would just like to thank Jim for giving me many, many hours of reading pleasure!
Cheers
Peter

I may be able to assist the author with 1945, as I have a full set, so his missing issues could possibly be scanned and added to the site. Unfortunately, I can't help with 1944, as I only have July and August.

edit: I also have three issues of Hobbies and Practical Wireless from early 1932 - of which I already have scans (c. 19MB each).

Glad they're being enjoyed!
1979 and 1980 RC are now on the site and I should finish 1981 this week. I have the missing 1961/62 copies but they're a bit inaccessible in the loft and it'll be a month or so before I can get back up there to find them.
A very few of the ones I've put on-line are photocopies as I don't have the originals so if anyone has better copies please contact me or David. Also several of the last two or three years' copies have no covers as the person who gave them to me (my old boss) collected the data sheets on the back page and removed them so, again, if anyone has those please let me know.

I have most of the Practical Wireless Blue prints from the 1960s that I'd like to scan but they are too big for my scanner and I'd rather not scan them in parts, so, if anyone has the facilities to scan these, again please let me know.
Jim
PS: You have a PM Dave!

Pin on the wall and take a high res photograph?

Not too much of a pain and the results should be fine.

1981 RC is now complete. Dave Moll has very kindly sent me some missing wartime PWs which I'll scan and add soon as well.

There may also appear in due course three issues of Hobbies magazine from 1932 representing the birth of Practical Wireless as a supplement.
