NVCF 13th May 2012
I'm sure that lots of you are planning to go to the NVCF on 13th May.
APPEAL FOR HELP Brian and Helen Pateman can't come this year which means we are very short of help on the Bring and Buy stall. Just Pam and myself which means we'll be run off our feet. Is there anyone who can help please? Can probably arrange free entry as an incentive. BRING & BUY Usual arrangements. You can sell stuff on 10% commissions or make donations of kit. All proceed to the Vintage Wireless Museum. If you have a number of items it helps us a lot if you can number and label each item with a price, also provide a sheet with a numbered list of the items with prices. FORUM COURIER SERVICE As usual, items can be left for collection at the B&B stall. Subject to space being available. Please label them with from/to information. This service provided at your own risk. While we will try to look after any items we cannot take responsibility if they get damaged or nicked. |

Re: NVCF 13th May 2012
I'm planning to be at the NVCF Jeffrey. Unfortunately I'm a bargain hunter which means I'll be busy, well, bargain hunting up to about 10:30. But I'll be available to do a couple of hours at least after that. Since this will only be a little help (if any help at all) I won't expect free entry. And I've never done it before so I will need a little guidance on how the stall works. Please PM me if this will be any use.
Cheers, GJ |

Re: NVCF 13th May 2012
GJ, your help after 1030 would be much appreciated. There's not a lot to learn about running the stall. I'll contact you again soon.
Any more offers of help would be very welcome, especially in the critical time before 1030. |

Jeffrey
I'll probably arrive at about 10 - 10:30 and leave at something like 14:00. Given that I'd like a bit of browse time in the morning, then feeding time about 12:00, please PM me if an hour of my time is any use.

I do a stall with a friend but we are a "threesome" this year and I might be able to tear myself away for a short while if it's any help...

Re: NVCF 13th May 2012
Having given some thought to this, I can offer an hour from say 11:00 to about 12:00 if that is of use, this would then leave me free to take a lunch break and spend the afternoon "shopping".

Re: NVCF 13th May 2012
Brian (Beamcurrent) and Jeremy (Pamphonica) have kindly agree to help for a substantial part of the day.
Many thanks also to the rest of you who have offered help. Best thing is to turn up at the B&B and we'll fit you in, either there and then or at some later agreed time. There's always going to be times when we could do with some extra help. |

Re: NVCF 13th May 2012
Hi All,
I have just been in touch with Guy Peskett, who deals with the stall bookings for the NVCF and I thought I should let you all know that there are only 10 (TEN) stalls left before we are jam packed full. If you are thinking of booking a table for this coming NVCF, then it would be prudent to do it as soon as possible. We usually get several late bookings over the phone in the last few days, and last year a number were turned away as they had left it too late and the event was full. You can still download a booking form from www.nvcf.co.uk It looks like another bumper show this year. Hope to see you all there, Mike...

Re: NVCF 13th May 2012
Hi Everyone,
Well looks like the weather is going to be kind to us and we will get another warm and sunny Day for the NVCF. We have been informed at the last minute of a stallholder who cannot make it to the show due to vehicle problems, so there is a spare table available. If anyone wishes to take this table you need to contact me directly by phone 07881 950549 to secure it at a reduced rate. Stall holder entry is from 07:00 to 08:45 Early entry is from 09:00 (SUBJECT TO FIRE OFFICER CLEARANCE) We try to make this clear to all stallholders, but some just insist on making the areas in front of their stalls a hazard, and we are delayed while they sort it out to the satisfaction of the Fire Officer. Normal entry 10:30am The BVWS Table will be loaded with Capacitor stocks etc. Come and say Hello! I look forward to seeing everyone there, Mike...

Re: NVCF 13th May 2012
What an excellent NVCF!
Many thanks to all those BVWS members involved making it happen. There seemed to be more visitors there this year than last, or maybe it's just my imagination. A good cross section and selection of stalls, with varying prices between them. Some willing to negotiate on prices, a few not! Did the stallholder with the little bakelite GEC tv make a sale? I thought £250 was a little steep. SimonT.

Re: NVCF 13th May 2012
A good day on the B&B stall. Raised over £300 for museum funds. A big thank you to all who gave generously and a special thank you to Brian, Jeremy and all those who helped on the stall. It got pretty frantic at times

Re: NVCF 13th May 2012
Grateful thanks to all those in involved in the organisation of another excellent NVCF. Five out of six of my radios found new homes, other unwanted items likewise, and I stocked up on a few spares and some literature. The car was very much lighter on the way home!
An excellent day. Ian Blackbourn |

Re: NVCF 13th May 2012
Very please with today. I haven't bought a Vintage Radio in yonks, but picked up a Zenith 500D with carrying pouch.
SWMBO was pleased with the size (Ooooh Matron! ).

Re: NVCF 13th May 2012
Yes, the sun shone and it was a good day out. I came home with a lot less than I took! Thanks to Mike and the team of volunteers for making it happen.
