Cowbit 2010 Event?
I've seen references to this event, which I know isn't a BVWS event, but I'd appreciate any info on start/finish time, venue, and format (swapmeet/auction, bring and buy? etc).
I think it's on Sunday 25 April 2010. The only thing I do know (as someone who lived for a while in Spalding) is that you don't pronounce it as 'Cowbit' but as 'Cubbit'. Not if you're local, rather than a grockle, that is! TIA, David, G4EBT |

David
The doors usually open between 10.15-10.30. The venue is Cowbit village hall, not far from the church on the main road. Park on the grass verge or on the side road. Makes sense when you get there! Format is the usual: stalls with sets and spares for sale (if you want a stall, contact Chas very soon) and there's a chance to look around the auction lots in the late morning. Sale starts PM, often about 1pm or 1.30pm. Get an auction number, don't try bidding without one. Good refreshments at a reasonable price (no hot food, but sandwiches and cakes etc) plus tea and coffee. If you are not sure about anything please PM me and I'll try to help. See you there. If you can't find me, ask Chas to point me out! -Tony |

Re: Cowbit 2010 Event?
Thanks for the very helpful response Tony.
Sounds an excellent event - something for everyone, and as always, a chance to put a few face to names! There's an outside chance that I'll be able to make it. If so, I'll certainly look you out. However, it depends on other competing priorities, and I'll certainly be at the NVCF, just a few weeks away. David, G4EBT |
