R1155 restoration book
I have need of a copy of this book having been given a pair of 1155s, unmolested. One at least needs a re-wire because of rubber insulation, or lack of it! The author's web site is over a year old and I had no response from the email address so I wonder if he is still with us?

Re: R1155 restoration book
Is this Peter Holtham in Australia? If so, I emailed him a couple of weeks ago to ask if his book has been updated to issue 3 as promised on his website. I had a reply saying he hadn't had time, and needs to nagged to do it!
So definitely still with us. Andy |

Re: R1155 restoration book
Andy,
Did you use the address on his web page, if so I'll try again. The promised third edition would be ideal for me as I also have an L set which although working has been so modified I can't work out what has been done to it! If he looks at this forum maybe he'll get in touch with me. Gordon |

Re: R1155 restoration book
Yes I am still here, and am getting sufficient nagging to get on with the 3rd edition of my R1155 book!
Last year I put up a SteppIR beam so have been playing HF more than restoration. The current shack can be seen at VK4COZ on qrz.com. I will try and get as much done as possible in the next few weeks, but then will be in Europe & the UK for 6 weeks from mid June. Taking a taxy ride in the preserved Lancaster at East Kirkby in early July to get an idea of what the wireless op experienced. I have also just started a BC348J receiver rebuild (bc348j.blogspot.com.au) to go with my ART13. Too many things to do, so little time.... |

Re: R1155 restoration book
I also got your first edition which I confess I haven't used as such but the book is a work of Art in itself

Re: R1155 restoration book
No I am not going to produce a book, the manual I have appears to give you everything that's needed, whether it does when I put the bits back in remains to be seen!
The blog is really just so the VK E. coast 40m a.m gang can see what I am up to. There are two R1155/T1154 rigs on (inc mine) with one more to come, plus an assortment of other old gear - Command sets, ART13, other Collins stuff etc. |
