That's quite a 'chunky' flywheel on that machine.

I recall as a 15 year old teenager changing the rec/pb head on my beloved Sanyo M2000, the excitement and satisfaction of restoring the sound to 'full output' was fantastic.

Now, this leads me towards the head on your N2220, it is also a mono head, just like my old Sanyo. Question: Can mono cassette heads still be got today? I suppose we could buy a stereo head and work both channels together?

Veering off topic slightly...We used one of those in a school drama class in the 1980s. Hours of fun with the pop out mic! Recordings were very good indeed, as I recall. Playback not too good or particularly powerful, likely due to the plastic cabinet.

One day I will have to get hold of one for old times' sake, even despite the goo
