Monochrome Monitor Tube
Does any one know of a source for these?
After liberating space in the garage I thought it was time to mantle my old Bear Engine analyser, however when lifting the display section I held onto a part that was not securely fixed - Result monitor on floor with tube neck broken --. Fortunately this was the only damage, The tube is made by Philips Type M47EAAOWW can't recall the phosphor colour, The monitor is made by Wells-Gardner (Chicago) Type 19V7053 The screen size being 19" diagonal Vintage 1990 looking at their web site produced no references, they also supply arcade game machines. So does anyone know of a source for these tubes or an equivalent? I daresay a few years back many of these were discarded when colour monitors came in. All leads gratefully received Mike A ( Hope to drown my sorrows at the BEER Festival Tomorrow ) |

Re: Monochrome Monitor Tube
I suspect any 19" rimband tube would be OK. At that date I think all CRTs wouldd be rimband protected with narrow neck and B8H base. Unless you know otherwise! A Prowest PM19/1 or PM19/3 monitor would be a good donor set but finding a surviving one of those might not be easy. The 14" ones are more common. You might even be able to bodge in a 20" tube from a Thorn 1500 etc.

Re: Monochrome Monitor Tube
Thanks Jeffrey,
Yes, I believe it's a rimband Tube- substantial metal band around the face with a lug at each corner, neck Dia = 29mm with 8 pins. It may be possible to replace the complete monitor Assy but I would rather not. I suspect (hope) that someone, somewhere must have a stock of these. Mike A |
