IIRC there is a 2-pole connector which takes the supply to the record deck. Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but are you sure you remembered to plug that lead back into the correct socket on the amplifier. We've all forgotten simple things like that I'm sure. I know I have at times!

The one thing i have done is plug the deck into my other amp and it works

This would suggest that the 230/240VAC supply to the record deck is missing or, for some reason too low in voltage (the latter is unlikely but by no means impossible) I have the service sheets somewhere, but not immediately to hand, but I'd be checking the wiring to the socket on the amplifier for continuity, and checking, with a meter set to a high (250.500v, etc.) AC Range what, if any voltage, is present at the motor supply socket. If, and I don't remember, the motor supply is separately fused, check that the fuse is intact.

all sorted now livewire
it was a bad connection on the socket and plug
played it all day sounds great

Hi could someone please tell me what power rating do i need on r18 and r19 3ohm resistors for a gondolier gp42

Modern resistors are quite small, a couple of 1 watt ones will more than be adequate.

Edit, they are 33 ohm
