Here's a picture from the identification chart on Paul's discs.

Valve line-up is ECH42, EF41, EBC41, EL41 & EZ80. No VHF. So early-mid-50s?

Not sure there is a direct equivalent, though RR sets also seem to have been sold badged as Baird.

Nick.

Nick,
Isn't that last quote backwards? As I understood it Baird were the manufacturers and RR rented them out. That was certainly true for (later) TVs.

I have a colour brochure for RR 1956/57 which includes the model 68.

It is not listed as being available for purchase, only rental starting at 8 shillings per month. Models 204 and 210 have the same basic descriptions and look as if they might be the same set in different cabinet styles.

All three models are described as being available for AC or DC mains

Hi,
I have a Radio Rentals purchase model ( not sure which as it in the loft ) and it looks similar to rr68 but it is in wooden cabinet, knobs similar and same place, and sloping dial etc. Valve line up is the same.
Will try to get up loft sometime to check.

Regards

Fred
