Intermittent or No VHF on Bush VHF62
There was no VHF reception on this set and I suspected the ECC85. I did not have a spare however but I did find an E88CC so I gave it a try just as a quick test. The VHF was restored so I ordered an ECC85 but found after fitting that it was back to no VHF. Puzzled, I tried my E88CC and found that this no longer worked.
So off came the tuner cover and after some very careful probing I discovered a dry joint as arrowed in the attached photo. I've placed this up on the Forum as it looks like this may manifest itself in other similar tuners, there wasn't much solder on the connection. |

Well done, that's a good result. Randomly changing valves (or indeed other components) can mask an underlying problem - a useful wakeup call for all of us.

Re: Intermittent or No VHF on Bush VHF62
Excellent work!
I have a VHF71 (which works fine) and presume the VHF tuner is identical
