What a luck, Bush TV 1 from Vienna

Hi,
It was an unusual find, a 405 line TV-receiver in Vienna!
Last weekend I bought for a bargain a nice old Bush TV 1.

It is a needle in the haystack to find an old british Tele here on
the continent.
Just because it was not owned by a radio collector. The seller is dealing
with art and style stuff, during the time he lived in London he added this
set to his collection.
Back in Austria he decided to sell the set for different reasons. The cabin
is in pretty good condition, scratches but still good for the living room.
The front knobs are missing, and the power supply with audio out assy,
which was mounted on the bottom floor of the console.

One thing makes me wonder, I have the same set in my collection,
I bought in London in 1996. My set has a Bush logo on the top of the cabin, but now not this one.

However, what shall I do with it now, parting out will be stupid, only valves and
picture tube have a value. The rest is not worth to part out because I could
fix all other parts in case of future problems with the set in my collcetion.

A sale shouldn`t make me rich , but a swap will do.
Because of a "small" problem it is impossible to me to enter Britain like in the
past, so I ask myself if I could find a swap partner I like to meet at the harbour of Calais/France.

I am still dreaming of a Plessey/Defiant table set with the speaker mounted
over the picture tube. This style is "stolen" from pre-war radios of the early 30ies.
Instead of a scale a 9" picture tube is mounted.

If I could find a swap partner, I should like to keep all valves and the picture
tube and accept a swap TV missing the picture tube, too.

Yes, that is an unusual story, finding an old tele for a bargain, but it is just
a model I own.
