Sounds like a standard 1.25" Bussmann fuse type.

Sounds about right. If not, RS do other values in the range. (Not clear whether you need 6A, 0.25A or 6.25A.)

Yeh with it being 6 1/4 i take it that the metric would be 6.25A
just done a little bit of digging too and some suggest that the voltage is 250vac not 30vac then put in a 6A not 6.25A.

Is this ok or should i just stick with the 6.25A

cheers

A voltage rating higher than 30V is fine, and I would think 6A will be ok, unless of course there is a fault which caused the original fuse to blow!

no there was no fault. i had just bought a NOS push bar assembly and was testing it but unfortunately a little strand of cable had straddled the + and -.
obviously, the fuse popped as a protection.
just hard to find the manufactures ideal fuses now. so was looking for a replacement or near enough. However, i noticed these are out of stock at rstrade.......nought new there then.

cheers for the advice

tom

You could try Farnell or CPC for 6.3 Amp fuses.

Pretty much any inch and a quarter 6A or thereabouts time delay (slo-blo) fuse will do for this.

The Bussmann MDA ceramic series would be an upgrade possibilty and may be more available. At any rate, RS have stock.
