Pilot T105
Probably not much of a success story this one, bearing in mind the cheapness of the set in question. The T105 was the last of the Pilot 'Little Maestro' series, compact and somewhat plain. It has a three valve plus rectifier line up and uses a dropper - the card back certainly takes a thrashing!
The set was dead with no heater continuity, the chassis is almost completely rusted over so I thought that I might have some earth return problems there. Upon investigation, the scale lamp (12V/2.2W) was open circuit. The lamp forms the final link in the heater chain down to chassis. Replacement of the lamp restored basic operation of the set, although I intend to fit a better lamp holder and hard wire it to chassis rather than rely on the spring clip to make contact. Next was the tuning drive, no pulleys here, just rusty steel posts for the cord to run on. Cleaning and de-rusting this lot brought the rather basic mechanicals back to life.
