Default Icom 251e base rig

Hi got a problem with my old rig....its been good for years..
the display has gone weird ...like 1..1.1 not freq anymore...before i go mad and strip it down any ideas guys?
ive posted elsewhere and suggestions been cpu reset or back up battery...
neither i thought this rig had?

Is the radio otherwise working, with just the display wonky?

A quick look at the diagram on Mods.Dk shows that the display is maintained by the TMS 1115 CPU (IC9) so in the first instance maybe just try a factory reset, especially if it has not been used for a while.

Hi thanks for reply...ok it seems to be receiving but the dial is not changing freq?
i just tested by tx on my yaesu and found where the ic251e is tuned to...
so i have lost display and it seems locked on a random freq...but it is receiving from yaesu ok...
so cpu reset...i have no manual...how do i do a reset please?

Hi all thanks for schematic ill take a look at that...done a test with a mate about 20 miles away...and i now realise not only display gone weird but its stuck on one feq 144.387 the dial no longer changes freq...dont know if that helps anyone to figure out where to start for me...

Hi all
well good news to report...the back up sw on back of rig i turned off and on..took power cable out...sw back on rig display all fine...i would like to thank everyone for their input....
