Local radiation from crt monitors was once a security issue. Video information from
a monitor in, for example, a bank, could be received outside on a sensitive Band I
receiver. This led to crt monitor manufacturers adding a metallic screen to the
crt enclosure. This harks back to the 405 line days where set makers fitted a foil
screen to their wooden cabinets to limit local lw/mw interference.
