Quick glimpse of old tellies on Salvage Hunters
From this evening's show on Quest, from Drew's visit to a prop hire company. He didn't buy any of them.
We only had these shots which only lasted a couple of seconds (approx 34-35 minutes in). A few interesting older sets there though. |

I recognise the 14" Sobell with the broken CRT. I used them as loan sets many years ago.

1st pic middle left looks like a Pye V300 or V310.

Yes I remember that episode. I don't think we found out whether he managed to sell them (along with the accompanying hi-fi system).

No it isn't. I remember an earlier episode where he totally ignored a pair of floor-standing B&W console TVs.
Gave up watching midway last season as the programme was becoming extremely repetitive and predictable.

Re: Quick glimpse of old tellies on Salvage Hunters
There was one episode broadcast here in Spain the other day when he visited some guy in outskirts of Norwich I think, with caravans of stuff and all the cars he'd ever owned in the grounds. There were what looked like a couple of Philips K30s stood on end outside!

He came to our village a while back and bought some stuff from a local farmer.

Re: Quick glimpse of old tellies on Salvage Hunters
It's quite right that electronic stuff should not be his thing. He deals with people who are often prepared to pay lots of money for quirky, interesting, period pieces to use in their homes or business premises. He has a team who are very adept, if not experts at what they do best. Getting involved in electronic equipment raises a number of issues, one of which is does the thing work or not? and what if someone puts a plug/new lead on it and it blows up or they get a shock? Vintage electronic equipment is specialist stuff that needs experts to restore. It's just not his thing and he rightfully recognises that and leaves well alone.
