Default Valve circuit simulation software

Hi Gents, has anyone used any of the packages that are available; either freeware or purchased, and would care to give recommendations?

Thanks, Ed

Not used anything specifically for valves, but ordinary SPICE simulators are perfectly OK if you can find (or generate yourself) any decent models.

Some of the models out there are a bit limited in how well some of the more obscure characteristics of vacuum state devices are modelled.

As for finding any decent models of germanium transistors, the less said the better!

For Valve circuit simulation I've only ever used LTSpice from Linear Technology . There are valve models for it but it's limited to the common audio types . For any other type you'll have to make you're own model using published data .

However it is free and a very nice piece of software .

Cheers ,

Duncan amps (google) has a few valve designs in LTSPICE. And LTSPICE is from Linear Technology. Both free downloads.
