I too lived within a few wavelengths of a MW transmitter, which consequently made single-tuned TRF receivers disappointing. Any poorly-screened high-impedance audio connection would be as likely to pick up 269 as mains hum!

Has anyone ever tried to build a simple superhet, using a ZN414 / MK484 for the I.F.?
