Smile Bush dual standard telly and old electric clocks in Rugby junk shop

Good afternoon,
Walking into the town centre today and came across this old though closed junk shop which has a nice dual standard Bush telly in the window. It appears cosmetically in good condition and complete. the back is loose but is present. Does anyone know what model it could be as I could only see 4 pushbuttons and 2 knobs on the front plus the system switch and wandered how it worked.

There are also loads of old electric and wind up clocks in the window plus a Bush TR82. I could see a few other transistor sets and a least one dial phone inside but the shop was closed.

The shop is on King edward (1/2 a lb please ) road and there is a telephone number in the window though I have not tried it.

I am half interested in the telly as it is not a huge monster of a set. They want 28 pounds for it and the clocks 10 to 15 pounds each

Hi Christopher,

I've had some kit from this shop a few years ago, including a rare Phillips 832B radio complete with GB battery and a Siemens accumulator still connected inside! Also a 1928 Celestion extension speaker cabinet and an ivory DAC 90A. I understand that the guy runs a removals/house clearance service and only opens the shop when he's not otherwise out and about. Well worth a look if you ever catch him open.

Sorry to hear about your accident by the way, hope you're fully recovered very soon!

May well have been 'convertable to' rather than genuine dual standard. I haven't seen the exact same model and I can't see well enough from the photo but it is probably TV115 era material still awaiting it's conversion. If the cabinet is in good condition and the LOPT hasn't died you could have quite a smart easy to fix 405 TV for your £28 quid (I'd offer him £20 and see if he takes 25). I think he may be asking a bit high on the clocks though, here in Barnsley, on the market - unless exceptional in condition, £10 would be 'top money'

Hello,

There are also 2x 'Bilston Knights'. Spotted since I used to live in Bilston. My dad worked in the factory that made these. Wouldn't mind them - any chance of FCS?

Hello,

If the set is a 19", then it's a T115c; T118c if it's a 23".

It would require a UHF tuner (rotary type - you can see a small darker circular area on the loudspeaker material where the shaft comes out) and a dual standard IF unit.

Regards,

I would happily pay £15 for the middle clock in the squarish case with the hands set to 12:00 though.

The two striking clocks (some of the others might be striking or chiming as well) are only worth a tenner as we don't know what state they are in or if anything's missing.

Worth £50 for the eight wooden mantel clocks.

Is that an Electradix crystal set I can see behind the carriage clocks?

Or just the back of a clock?

Cheers

No that is a vintage bakelite Smiths electric clock !!

I rang them up and it seems you have to ask if the shop is open as it appears not to be manned very frequently. I wouldnt mind a good rummage around as there are other things of interest further inside though not that easy to see as the light was not on.

Same case, obviously, but you both knew that, I'm sure.

Yes I have a couple of these Smiths Electric clocks but I don't recall the alarm setting knob looking so small in relationship to the case and I am sure mine is offset not in the centre.

Unfortunately the clocks are not to hand to do a comparison.

Hence my question.

I guess there are very many variants and and this is another one

Maybe there is enough definition on the original picture to read what it says on the back.

Cheers

Here's the back of what I believe is the same or similar clock:

Hi All, I was in Rugby last week and tracked down the shop...wow!
Here's some pics. Also fyo, shop closed fridays but there's a phone number for any enquiries. Yes, those fire figures (companion set?) are still there.
Thanks for the heads up!

A few more pics:
Also, spotted at the rear of the shop a pianola complete with brass candlesticks. It should be opened as a museum.
