Default Patents database free search website

The last time this was mentioned on the Forum was in 2005. I think the Espacenet site has now moved, and it has certainly been expanded to include patents going back to the mid-1800s. It's very good.

http://worldwide.espacenet.com/?locale=en_EP

If you know the British patent number, prefix your search with "GB".

Yup, that works for `us-prefixed ones too. I can remember the number of one of mine and it found it with hardly a pause. A window on the page offered the option to auto translate it into Albanian.
